Nick Farhi is a New York-based visual artist whose practice encompasses painting, sculpture, installation, and performance. He holds an MFA in Painting from Columbia University (2023), where he was recognized with the Columbia University Visual Arts Scholarship and the Quinta Carolina Fellowship, and also served as an Interdisciplinary Arts Council Fellow. His earlier education includes studies in Painting and Art History at SUNY Empire State College (2011-2014) and continuing education at Cooper Union. Farhi also contributes academically, having taught at the Columbia University School of the Arts.
Farhi has established a robust international exhibition profile. His solo exhibitions have been hosted by prominent galleries such as Tang Contemporary (Hong Kong), Stems Gallery (Paris), Will Shott (New York), Golsa (Oslo), Bill Brady Gallery (Miami), and Neochrome Gallery (Turin), among others. His work was recently featured in solo presentations including "Autumn Leaves" in Hong Kong (late 2024) and "Reverie" in Paris (Spring/Summer 2024).
He has also participated extensively in group and duet/trio shows globally. Recent group exhibitions concluded in March 2025 at Galerie Rolando Anselmi in Rome and Ethan Cohen Gallery in New York. Other notable group participations include shows at Marlborough Gallery (London), Nino Mier Gallery (New York), M+B Los Angeles, Galleri Golsa (Oslo), The Jewish Museum (New York, performance), South Hampton Arts Center, Half Gallery (New York), and Leila Heller Gallery (New York).
Beyond his studio practice, Farhi engages with critical discourse through published writing in outlets like Yale School of Architecture's Paprika! Magazine and Columbia University's MODA Critical Review. He has also delivered lectures, such as "Mining for Emotions: Social Equity as Public Art" at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
His career has been supported by prestigious residencies, including Palazzo Monti in Brescia, Italy (2020) and a visiting research fellowship with the Center for Arts, Design, and Social Research in Spoleto, Italy (2022). He has an upcoming artist residency with The Grosso Collection in Venice scheduled for Fall 2025. Farhi has also contributed work to numerous philanthropic exhibitions and benefits.
